Barcelona fans continued their appeal for Lionel Messi to retrace his steps back to the Catalan giants, following the club's La Liga triumph on Sunday evening.
Barcelona clinched their first Spanish league crown since the 2018-2019 season, after beating cross-town rivals, Espanyol 4-2.
It was the club's 27th league title in total, ending their drought since the departure of Messi to Paris Saint-Germain a couple of seasons ago.

After winning the Spanish top division with four matches to spare, fans in Barcelona took to the streets to bask in league-winning glory while chanting the name of their former talisman, GOAL reports.

In sharp contrast to the love he received in Barcelona, a section of PSG's fanbase was unforgiving of Messi, whistling and booing the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner, who lasted the duration of a home game against Ajaccio, Sports Brief reported.
While he was heckled, other sections of the Parc des Princes replied with chants of 'Messi'. Nonetheless, the mercurial Argentine playmaker had a relatively quiet game as his side romped to a 5-0 win, condemning Ajaccio to relegation in the process.
