The Frenchman's current deal with the Blues is set to expire this summer, with his contract situation sparking fears he could leave the club for free.
According to Metro UK, Kante has been one of Chelsea's most influential figures since his arrival back in 2016 from Leicester City.
However, he has been less impactful this season, with a long-term injury initially hampering his progress during the club's crisis.

N'Golo Kante speaks on Chelsea future
While reports claim that Barcelona and Arsenal are keen to land the services of the World Cup-winning star, the midfielder has come out to make it clear he wants to continue at Chelsea.
Asked if he wanted to stay at Chelsea, Kante told Sky Sports:
"For sure. It’s an exciting project for the club."
"Unfortunately, this season hasn’t been to Chelsea’s standards. But everyone wants to go in this way, the way of success and winning titles.
"I hope this club will again fight in this direction. Let’s see where I will be but I hope that this is a change for the club, that is most important," he added.
Chelsea are believed to have lined up Mauricio Pochettino to take charge at the end of the season to succeed Graham Potter, who was sacked in February.

Sports Brief previously reported on Kante promising his Chelsea teammates he would do a knee-slide celebration if he scored on his return to action against Everton.
Christian Pulisic, Ben Chilwell, and Mykhailo Mudryk reportedly cornered the 2018 World Cup winner and asked him to change from smiling after any goal is scored.
Kante's return to action eventually came against Aston Villa in Graham Potter's last game in charge, before making his first start under interim coach, Bruno Saltor, who also departed to make way for Frank Lampard.
