  • N'golo Kante is back in the Chelsea team after about seven months out with a hamstring injury
  • The midfielder's last game was the 2-2 draw against Tottenham sta Stamford Bridge in August
  • He has now made a promise to fans of what he will do if he scores on his first game back

Chelsea's momentum was halted on Saturday after conceding a last-minute goal to draw 2-2 against relegation battlers Everton at Stamford Bridge.

The Toffees came from behind twice through Abdoulaye Doucoure and Ellis Simms after João Felix, and Kai Havertz's penalty put Chelsea ahead on different occasions.

The match also marked the return of N'golo Kante to the matchday squad after about seven months out, during which he underwent surgery to repair a damaged hamstring.

A lot has changed since his injury. Thomas Tuchel has been sacked, his midfield partner Jorginho has been sold to Arsenal, and eight new players have joined the club in the January window.

According to a video from Chelsea's Cobham training ground, recirculated on Twitter by Hayters TV, Kante promised his teammates he would do the knee slide celebration if he scored on his first game back in the team.

The former Leicester City midfielder was spotted discussing with teammates Christian Pulisic, Ben Chilwell and new signing Mykhailo Mudryk. Pulisic asked him to change his celebration, and he promised to do a knee slide.

The American made fun of Kante's celebration, saying he could score in a World Cup final and move a bit and smile, and that would be all.

As reported by talkSPORT, he was too shy to ask for the World Cup trophy after France won it in Russia, a tournament he was a key figure for Les Bleus. A testament to his personality and how simple he can be even in high moments.

Kante held at gunpoint

Sports Brief earlier reported that Kante was held at gunpoint in Paris in 2017 and threatened to drop his agent AbdelKarim Douis or he would be killed.

Despite recorded footage of one of his advisors and his brother telling Kante to drop the agent, he denied the incident and remains with Douis till today.
