Barcelona don’t want to lose one of their star players for nothing and have already begun negotiations with the player over a new deal. Renowned football journalist Fabrizio Romano revealed that the club have opened talks with the player who Xavi views as untouchable.
Xavi had high praise for the attacker as he spoke about his recent absence due to injury, Goal noted.
“We have missed him. He is the best one-on-one player, there are few in the world like him. Ask the full backs in La Liga who they prefer. He’s a player with tremendous speed, he’s a difference-maker. It’s logical that we’ve missed him,” he said.
Dembele has had a career hampered by injury but has still been a significant threat for the Catalan giants.
As noted by Transfermarkt, Dembele played 180 games for the Spanish side since joining them and has scored 40 goals while notching up 41 assists.
