- Haaland's first season in English football has seen him break many records and set new ones
Erling Haaland’s first season in English football continues to be record-breaking, as he scooped another prestigious award and set a new record in the process.
The Norwegian joined Manchester City for £51 million in the summer after two-and-half years at Borussia Dortmund, where he made his mark by helping the club win the DFB-Pokal.
He walked straight into Pep Guardiola’s team that has won four of the last five Premier League titles and, in his debut season, is on course to help City achieve a three-peat.
His 35 league goals so far is a Premier League milestone for most scores in a season - both in 38-game and 42-game terms - surpassing legends, Alan Shearer and Andrew Cole, as reported by Mirror UK.

Haaland wins FWA award
According to talkSPORT, he is also the Football Writers Association Men’s Player of the Year in his debut season, winning by a landslide with a historic 82% of total votes cast.
Haaland beat Arsenal’s duo of fellow Norwegian, Martin Odegaard and English youngster, Bukayo Saka, who have been impressive this season, to lift the highly coveted award.
The 22-year-old, who also picked up the Premier League April Player of the Month, joins Raheem Sterling and Ruben Dias as the third Man City player to win in the last five years.
Rightly so, City have dominated the division.
According to the Citizens' official website, Haaland became the fourth player to win the award in a debut season after Gianfranco Zola (1997), Jurgen Klinsmann (1995), and Dias in 2021.
