- Ronaldo’s mother, Dolores Aveiro is frequently pointed to as the stumbling block in the relationship
Rumours of separation have become common in the relationship between Cristiano Ronaldo and his girlfriend, Georgina Rodriguez.
The two have been together since 2016. They began dating in 2017, after the Portuguese star met Rodriguez at a Gucci store in Madrid, where she was a storekeeper.
They have parented children together, including one via a surrogate mother, and are raising them all together, including those from Ronaldo’s previous relationships.
According to talkSPORT, Ronaldo’s transfer to Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr further highlighted the fact that the couple are yet to make their relationship official. This is because of a custom in the Arab country, which prohibits the cohabitation of unmarried couples.

Ronaldo’s mother refutes separation rumours
Ronaldo’s mother, Dolores Aveiro, who has been persistently pinpointed as the stumbling block in the couple's marriage, has moved to reject claims that the two are close to separating.
She clarified this to the press while opening a shop in Ronaldo's native hometown of Madeira, Portugal, after several sources claimed the relationship was nearing its end.
“It’s all lies. Every couple argues, but what’s been written is a lie,” she said, as quoted by Sun UK.
The pair had also debunked the claims in recent weeks, with different posts on social media channels. Ronaldo uploaded a picture of the two kissing, and captioned it, “Cheers to love”.
“The jealous one invents a rumour, the gossipy one spreads it, and the idiot believes it,” Georgina wrote on social media.

FootballRonaldo’s mother accused of hostility
Sports Brief previously reported that a Portuguese celebrity accused Dolores of hostility towards Georgina and warned she could scare her son’s partners away.
Antonio Bravo made this claim on a TV show, “Em Familia” in Portugal, where he advised the 68-year-old to calm down and prioritise her son’s happiness over clashing with his partners.
She has been seen as the reason the Al-Nassr star is yet to pop the question to the Argentine, whom she believes is in the relationship for financial gains.
