Here is a compilation of the best moments and lessons learned from the matches that had us all on the edge of our seats:

Napoli win first Scudetto in 33 years

The debate about Maradona's successor at Napoli continues to rage on. Nonetheless, Victor Osimhen's goal during the midweek sparked joyous celebrations, which continued till the weekend when the Nigerian struck once again as the Partenopei bagged their first Scudetto in more than three decades.

The Naples-based side have been overwhelmingly dominant in the Italian topflight from the get-go, and deservedly crowned their efforts with a draw at Udinese, which confirmed them as champions of Italy, BBC reports.

They were given a guard of honour from Fiorentina ahead of their first home game since their Scudetto triumph. A Victor Osimhen strike from the penalty spot in the 74th minute spiced up the party mood at the Stadio Diego Maradona.

Chelsea end winless rot

The west London club endured their worst run in the Premier League in many years; failing to pick a win since March 11, going on a nine-game winless streak, including six successive defeats under caretaker manager Frank Lampard.

However, Super Frankie inspired his team to a statement win over Bournemouth to cement their Premier League status. Conor Gallagher headed the Blues into the lead, but the home side drew level through Matias Vina before Benoit Badiashile and Joao Felix pulled the brakes on their losing run, per Evening Standard.

Lampard, who is set to depart the Stamford Bridge outfit at the end of the summer, expects his charges to be more ruthless in front of the goal, building up on their win at Bournemouth.

Bayern still on top as Bundesliga race heats up

The German topflight has been a one-horse race for a decade, with Bayern Munich winning the Bundesliga title every season since the 2012-13 campaign.

Following their unexpected exit from the DFB Pokal and the embarrassing nature of how Manchester City bundled them out of the UEFA Champions League, Bayern have channelled their attention towards winning a record-extending 33 league titles, but face tough competition from Borussia Dortmund.

Dortmund are currently trailing Bayern by a solitary point with less than five games left. Both sides will hope to continue their winning tangent while praying for either side to slip up in order to earn the title as German champions.

Barcelona congratulate Madrid on Copa success

The Catalan giants have notoriously earned the moniker "FC Congratulations" for putting aside rivalry to celebrate their El Clasico rivals, Real Madrid, following the latter's success in the Copa del Rey.

Barcelona became the subject of trolls on social media, compounding their agony of watching their eternal nemesis scoop their first Copa title in almost a decade.

Madrid had to labour for their 20th Copa del Rey crown, beating Osasuna 2-1 in the final, with Brazilian forward Rodrygo Goes bagging a brace to help Carlo Ancelotti win every available trophy on his second coming as Los Blancos boss.

Mbappe shines in Messi's absence

Kylian Mbappe inspired Paris Saint-Germain to a comfortable 3-1 win at Troyes in the absence of Argentine playmaker, Lionel Messi, who has been suspended by the club.

Mbappe broke the deadlock, albeit fortuitously, before Vitinha and Fabian Ruiz ensured Christophe Galtier's charges returned to winning ways after suffering a chastening defeat at the hands of Lorient.

The win puts PSG in pole position to win a record-extending 11th Ligue 1 title with four games to spare in a season which can best be described as topsy turvy interlaced with on and off-the-pitch drama.
