FootballArsenal Fan Arrested in Connection to Mudryk’s Laser Lights Incident
- Mykhailo Mudryk received a poor reception from Arsenal fans last night
- The Ukrainian ditched Arsenal in the last minute and joined Chelsea for £88m
- The former Shakhtar Donetsk winger had laser lights pointed at his face at the Emirates last night
Arsenal have released a statement following the incident of using a laser light on Chelsea winger, Mykhailo Mudryk, at the Emirates Stadium last night.
The Blues came in at the last minute during the January transfer window and hijacked the player from the grasp of their rivals, who had courted him for over four months.
The Ukrainian started off the bench in his first visit to the home of the Gunners since the transfer saga over his signature went in the way of the West Londoners.
He came on in the 71st minute and was immediately followed by a green laser light, pointed at his face to disrupt his sight, as captured by Sky Sports cameras.

Fan arrested over Mudryk's case
Laser lights are illegal and banned in stadiums after multiple incidents of using them to blind players during penalty kicks.
In a statement this morning via Evening Standard, Arsenal confirmed a fan had been arrested in connection to the incident and would provide full support to the police.
“An arrest has been made following the use of a laser during last night’s match. This behaviour is dangerous and totally unacceptable, and we will fully support the police with their enquiries. We will obviously take the strongest possible action,” the statement reads.
The 22-year-old was a bright spark for Frank Lampard's side. He created three chances, more than any other player on both sides, despite being on the pitch for only 19 minutes.

FootballArsenal fans boo Aubameyang
Pointing laser lights at Mudryk was one of the aberrant behaviours of the fans yesterday. The Gunners fans also booed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, as Sports Brief reported.
The former striker returned to Emirates for the first time since controversially leaving Arsenal after clashing with Mikel Arteta in 2022.
He played only 45 minutes and was the poorest player on the pitch, touching the ball nine times, four from kickoff, before he was substituted at half-time for Kai Havertz.
