Barcelona manager, Xavi Hernandez has waxed lyrical about Manchester City, calling them the best team in the world and stating they are deserving of winning the treble this season. 

Pep Guardiola's men displaced Arsenal to take the top spot in the Premier League standings after beating Fulham on Saturday.

The Citizens also stormed into the semi-final of the UEFA Champions League, where they will lock horns against defending champions, Real Madrid.

According to Mirror Football, Guardiola could yet be the second man in English football to deliver the iconic treble, after the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson, heading into the final weeks of the season.

"For me, Manchester City are the best team in the world and their football should be a model for us to look to," Xavi stated during a press conference on Monday, via Marca.
"They have the best coach in the world. It would be just if they win the treble."

Man City are favourites for the three remaining competitions they are in, with expectations growing that Guardiola's team can dominate across the board.

Xavi wants Kessie out

Meanwhile, Xavi has given the green light for Barcelona to sell Franck Kessie, according to Football Espana.

The Ivorian joined the side as a free agent from AC Milan but has endured a mixed first season with the Catalan giants.

Kessie has scored some crucial goals so far, most notably against Real Madrid, but it isn't enough for Barcelona to consider keeping him.

Xavi isn’t getting carried away

Earlier, Sports Brief reported on Xavi not getting carried away with Barcelona's current position on the La Liga table.

The manager knows his side are in an excellent position to win, but also knows there is still work to do to wrap it up.

Xavi was commenting on Barcelona’s command over the league after Real Madrid’s shocking defeat against Girona.
