It appears that Swallows FC player Keegan Allan will be alright.
Kaizer Chiefs player Dillan Solomons accidentally struck the defender in the jaw during the DStv Premiership encounter against Kaizer Chiefs at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Monday afternoon. Both players were jumping for the ball when the incident occurred.
Initially, he was merely struggling to get up after the collision, before things became serious. Referee Cedric Muwali ran straight for the medical bench to retrieve a defibrillator and an oxygen tank. This is while the medics rushed onto the field accompanied by two ambulances. Unsettling scenes showed a dazed Allen lying on his side while concerned players gathered around him.

After several minutes, the mood lifted as the players surrounding the stricken Allan started laughing in relief, grateful that he was okay. He was then walked off the field in tears by both the Swallows and Chiefs team doctors, which was much better than being having to be taken to the hospital from the stadium.
Birds coach Musa Nyatama said during the post-match that Allan would be okay, though he did not know yet the condition of the player. On the other hand, Swallows FC ensured their stay in the league with a 2-1 win over their Soweto rivals.
Referee praised for response
Referee Cedrick Muvhali has enhanced his career in the space of several crucial minutes.
The Limpopo-based South African Football Association whistleman was singled out for praise for his response to the plight of Allan, as reported by Sports Brief.
Muvhali realised the gravity of the situation, before getting involved in providing medical assistance before even the team doctors and paramedics grasped what was going on, which was something that former FIFA referee and current pundit Ace 'VAR' Ncobo praised.
