Lionel Messi returning to play for Barcelona next season will not be easy.
That’s according to La Liga president, Javier Tebas.
Messi is out of contract at the end of the season, and while Paris Saint-Germain are still hopeful of retaining his services, Barcelona are not ruling out the chance of bringing Camp Nou’s favourite son home.
As reported by renowned football journalist, Fabrizio Romano, Tebas recently provided an update on the situation, admitting that it would be complicated.

The La Liga chief explained that Barcelona would have to sell players and still reduce their salaries in order to register the World Cup winner. That would also depend on how much Messi’s salary is.
Some fans believe that Tebas is just throwing more obstacles in Barca’s way because he doesn’t like the club.
As noted by Barca Blaugranes, Tebas previously stated that he was hopeful the Catalans would be able to sign Messi again, because he would like to see the Argentinian back in La Liga.
“Hopefully, for La Liga, Barça will make the necessary moves for Messi to come, but we will not change a rule for Messi to return. I would like Messi to play in this competition,” he said at the time.
