What Solskjaer told Rojo

Maguire was almost immediately appointed as the club's captain, with Rojo paving way for him in the starting XI.

However, it did not take long for the United skipper to start committing defensive mistakes, leading the Argentine to approach Solskjaer about being given a chance instead.

"One day, I went to Solskjaer’s office to tell him to let me leave for the other club or put me in the starting line-up, but he told me that Maguire had to play yes or yes because of the money they paid for him."
"Maguire was making huge mistakes already and I told Solskjaer: 'Son of a [expletive], let me play because this guy is making huge mistakes every week," Rojo was translated as saying by the Sun, via TyC Sports.

Maguire has since been ousted from the starting XI following Erik ten Hag's arrival at the club. Lisandro Martinez has since formed an impressive partnership with the highly experienced Raphael Varane.

Rojo, meanwhile, is with Boca Juniors in Argentina.

Maguire's argument with De Gea

Sports Brief previously reported on Maguire's altercation with United goalkeeper, David De Gea as Man United bowed out of the Europa League on April 20.

After Sevilla's first goal went in, the keeper was visibly upset at his captain losing possession and fans noticed the defender making a gesture meaning 'shut up'.

Maguire's time at Manchester has always been punctuated with high-profile errors, yet injuries to Varane and Martinez means he is needed in the first team.
