Barcelona manager, Xavi Hernandes has blasted his players for their lack of intensity following their 2-1 loss to Rayo Vallecano on Wednesday night.
Robert Lewandowski’s 83rd-minute strike was not good enough to rescue a point for the Catalan giants, who could not take advantage of Real Madrid’s slip-up on Tuesday.
According to Football Espana, Xavi insisted his Barcelona players had not competed at the required level and said they deserved to lose to Rayo Vallecano.
“No, not long; what I want is to win it. We haven’t competed as the game required. This annoys me as a coach."

He also stated Vallencano had shown more intensity during the clash.
“They want to win La Liga, but the difficulty is clear. This ground required an excellent intensity and we have not had it. It is one of the reasons for taking us a deserved defeat.”
Barcelona have now gathered just one win in their last five La Liga games, as the race for the league title hots up with seven games to go.

Meanwhile, Xavi has denied Barcelona are taking La Liga for granted after dropping points in their last four matches despite a healthy advantage over rivals, Real Madrid.
