  • Erling Haaland scored his 33rd EPL goal in Manchester City's demolition of Arsenal
  • The Norwegian laboured to the final minute of the game before finally getting a goal
  • Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah scored a record 32 goals in the 2017/18 season

Erling Haaland continues to shatter goal-scoring records in his first Premier League season, and there seems to be no end to how many milestones he will surpass.

Manchester City paid £51 million to Borussia Dortmund to sign the goal machine and he has vastly improved the Citizens' frontline, getting on the end of chances crafted by the plethora of creators in the team.

In City's 4-1 demolition of title rivals, Arsenal last night, the Norwegian showed a different side to his game by holding linking-up play to set up Kevin De Bruyne twice for the first and third goals, as reported by Mirror UK.

He laboured all night for his own goal, which came in the last minute of the game, having been denied a couple of times by Arsenal goalkeeper, Aaron Ramsdale, who was responsible for keeping the scoreline respectable despite how embarrassing as it seemed.

Haaland breaks Salah's record

The 22-year-old's 33rd Premier League goal last night meant he broke Liverpool winger, Mohamed Salah's goal tally of 32 goals in the 38-game era of the Premier League, set in the 2017/18 season, according to ESPN.

Haaland has played just 29 games this season and with Man City having seven league games left, he is on course to break another record of 34 goals in a 42-game season; a joint record held by Andy Cole and Alan Shearer.

The Norwegian also achieved a rather unexpected feat last night. His two assists for Kevin De Bruyne took his league total to seven, matching the total of his compatriot and Arsenal captain, Martin Odegaard.

Adebayo differentiates Haaland from Aguero

Sports Brief earlier reported on former City striker, Emmanuel Adebayor differentiating Haaland from Sergio Aguero, and his analysis appeared spot-on.

The Togolese veteran claimed Haaland is physical and combative against defenders and he proved just that, bullying Rob Holding throughout the game.

The former Salzburg and Dortmund striker upped his game to a different level against the Gunners, through link-up play and also turning provider for KDB.
