FootballLampard Issues Strong Message on Pochettino Replacing Him at Chelsea
- Mauricio Pochettino has emerged as the firm favourite to take over as the next Chelsea manager
- The Argentine is expected to replace Frank Lampard, who has been manager on an interim basis
- Lampard has endured a frustrating start to his second spell at the club and has not won a game
Frank Lampard has given a strong response after he was asked about the possibility of Mauricio Pochettino replacing him as the next Chelsea boss.
The Blues are in the market for a permanent replacement for Graham Potter, who was sacked after just seven months at the helm of affairs.
Lampard, who was out of job following his dismissal at Everton, was subsequently appointed to the role in an interim capacity as the club embarked on finding Potter's successor.
According to Football London, the west Londoners had identified four world-class managers to possibly take charge at the end of the season.

Pochettino emerges as Chelsea frontrunner
However, according to The Mirror, it has now emerged that Pochettino is the firm favourite to take over at Stamford Bridge in the coming weeks.
The Argentine tactician is currently without a job, having been sacked as coach of Paris Saint-Germain back in May 2022.
When asked about the possibility of the ex-Tottenham boss replacing him, Lampard issued a defiant response:
"The season sounds over from your questions, but I am Chelsea; for me, it is not over."
Lampard has endured a frustrating spell on his second return to Chelsea as manager, with the Englishman yet to record a win.

What Pochettino can offer Chelsea
At the same time, Poch's lack of trophies during his time with Tottenham Hotspur has always been a consideration when judging his suitability to manage a top club.
However, Sports Brief believes Pochettino might be the answer to a struggling Chelsea side asking questions and in desperate need of an uplift in their fortunes.
After Nagelsmann and Enrique withdrew, and with Zinedine Zidane reportedly focused on Juventus, the Argentine might be the only option Chelsea really have.
