Even though it has not yet been established what Sane said to prompt such a severe reaction from Mane, there has been speculation that latter was unhappy at his teammate being out of position.

Oliver Kahn and Hasan Salihamidzic, who are in charge of Bayern, were reportedly furious with Mane for raising his hands at a teammate and suspended him after the team returned to Germany.

The team has also been considering the possibility of sacking the former Liverpool star for his actions. However, according to Daily Mail, Sane has come to his teammate's defence and urged the club not to terminate his contract or effect his sale to another clubnot to terminate the contract of Mane despite being punched by the former Liverpool star.

Mane has not been having it rosy at the Bavarians since he joined the club from the Reds, only managing 11 goals in his 32 appearances for the Bundesliga champions.

As it stands, it is not yet clear if the Senegalese star will be allowed to feature for Bayern Munich in their next league game against Hoffenheim.

Mane recounts his football journey
