The 38-year-old, touted by many as one of the greatest footballers of all time, has had a bittersweet experience in his first season with Al-Nassr.

On a personal note, Ronaldo has bagged 11 goals in 14 matches for the Knights of Najd but collectively, Al Nassr have experienced a dip in fortunes, per Transfermarkt.

Since Cristiano's blockbuster arrival, Al-Nassr have been knocked out of the Riyadh Super Cup, Saudi Super Cup, lost their first position in the Saudi Pro League and have now been eliminated from the King Cup.

Ronaldo fumes at Al-Nassr bench

Cristiano Ronaldo continues to endure a torrid time in the past couple of weeks as Al-Nassr went into the half of their Saudi King Cup semifinal game against Al Wehda, trailing by a lone goal, Sports Brief reported.

Unfortunately, Ronaldo and Al-Nassr suffered an early setback after just 23 minutes when Jean-David Beauguel broke the game's deadlock to silence the home crowd.

Following the halftime whistle, the former Manchester United and Real Madrid forward could not hide his disappointment by lamenting to the technical bench.

Ronaldo, Messi era over?

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Wayne Rooney has identified Erling Haaland as the heir apparent to the Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo throne, suggesting the era of the GOAT duo has come to an end.

Haaland has been on fire since swapping Borussia Dortmund for Manchester City, dwarfing virtually every goal-scoring record in England and, by extension, Europe.

Rooney's comments have also renewed debate about the era of Messi and Ronaldo, who shot their way to the top of the ‘greatest of all time’ conversation.
