FootballNapoli vs AC Milan: Spotlight on Victor Osimhen Ahead of Champions League Showdown
- Napoli vs AC Milan is practically the ultimate fixture of this week's Champions League quarter-finals
- Home fans at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium will be banking on more goals by Victor Osimhen
- The 24-year-old striker missed out on the first leg but will be fully fit for the reverse fixture on Tuesday
Napoli have just one mission on April 18 - score goals against their Italian rivals, AC Milan and this will be largely on Victor Osimhen’s shoulders to accomplish.
The Nigerian missed out on the first leg, which Milan won 1-0 at the San Siro Stadium courtesy of a fine strike by Ismael Bennacer in the 40th minute.
Napoli will also be without important midfielder, Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa, who was shown a red card in the first leg, meaning Luciano Spalletti must work some magic.
Even though Osimhen was not part of the first leg, the Partenopei dominated most of the encounter and registered 16 shots on target, four more than their hosts, but trail 1-0 on aggregate.

Club officials have now confirmed the 24-year-old Nigerian international is fully fit for the game at the Diego Amando Maradona Stadium in Naples.
Why is Osimhen important?
The striker comes into this game with 25 goals already this season, including four in the Champions League. He had so far notched in 21 league goals to help Napoli place one hand on the Scudetto already.
According to Infogol, the Super Eagles of Nigeria striker has registered 12 shots in this season’s UCL, with six of those on target.

Spalletti is excited about the encounter:
"Osimhen has this physicality and speed, you can throw the ball up to him, and he can protect it, use his head or use a change of pace, he has so many different alternatives. He is a hero of these fans now, so there is always a wave of enthusiasm around him."
