FootballEx-Real Madrid Striker Cassano Slams Erling Haaland; “He Doesn’t Know How to Play”
- Erling Haaland has been accused of not knowing how to play football
- This is despite the Manchester City striker dwarfing any recording in his maiden season in England
- The 22-year-old is chasing a treble this season under Pep Guardiola
Former Real Madrid striker Antonio Cassano has once again stirred up the hornet's nest, this time training his guns on Erling Haaland.
The retired Italian international has claimed that the Manchester City striker does not know how to play football.
Going by Haaland's numbers this season alone, it seems quite ironic for Cassano to level such a claim. The Norwegian scored his 45th goal in all competitions in their midweek clash against Bayern Munich.
He only moved to the English Premier League this season from Borussia Dortmund and it did not take him a long time to settle into Pep Guardiola's team.

As the Sun reports, Cassano prefers strikers like Robert Lewandowski and Karim Benzema.
"There are other strikers who know how to play football, like Robert Lewandowski and Karim Benzema. He doesn't know how to play football.
"He's a great scorer, he's phenomenal. But don't you prefer a striker who knows how to play football?"
Cassano then sort of contradicted himself by claiming that Haaland was a mixture of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Adriano - one of the best strikers of their generations.
Haaland is among the favourites to win the Ballon d'Or should he guide Manchester City to Champions League and Premier League titles.
Cassano vs Jose Mourinho
This comes after Jose Mourinho took a brutal swipe at Antonio Cassano after the former Italian international criticised the AS Roma style of play.

FootballSports Brief reported that Cassano called out Mourinho for his inability to play beautiful football with the pundit. The footballer-turned-pundit was speaking in response to the reports that continue linking Mourinho with a return to one of his former clubs - either Real Madrid or Chelsea.
Mourinho responded in characteristic style, dragging the former midfielder through the mud. The AS Roma boss pointed out that Cassano never won anything tangible despite playing for top clubs like Inter Milan, Roma and Real Madrid during his days.
