“I like Cristiano Ronaldo more because he’s a hard worker," Xhaka said as quoted by TimelineCR7.

He praised the former Real Madrid and Manchester United forward for his work ethic despite being on the wrong side of age 30.

"He works constantly, and even at this age, you can see he can still play at a high level. I'm a Ronaldo fan.”

Meanwhile, the Swiss midfield linchpin is aspiring to be a league winner this season with Arsenal as the Gunners chase their first top-flight crown since 2003/04.

According to Transfermarkt, he has been omnipresent for Mikel Arteta's charges in their Premier League campaign, featuring in all 29 games so far and will be expected to play a key role when Arsenal travel to Merseyside to cross swords with Liverpool on Sunday, April 9.

Bellingham settles GOAT debate

In a similar reportage, Sports Brief reported on Jude Bellingham being the latest superstar to add his voice to the ongoing debate on which footballer is the greatest of all time between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Messi and Ronaldo have dominated football for almost two decades, winning multiple titles and individual honours, creating a rivalry that has seen fans pitch their tents in either camp.

Bellingham has now revealed his GOAT to be ‘Messi’ as he describes then five-time Ballon d’Or winner as not human due to his abilities.
