FootballTen Hag Provides Update on Lisandro Martinez's Serious-Looking Injury vs Sevilla
- Lisandro Martinez was carried off the pitch by his Argentina teammates after suffering an injury
- The defender was injured in Manchester United's game against Sevilla on Thursday night
- Erik ten Hag has admitted that it does not look good after losing another star to the mending table
Lisandro Martinez left the pitch in tears after picking up what looked like a serious injury on April 13th. The Manchester United defender went down after no contact from any player, clutching to his ankle looking to be in complete distress.
Martinez was part of Erik ten Hag's starting eleven as they welcomed a struggling Sevilla to Old Trafford for the first leg of the Europa League quarterfinals.
An early brace from Marcel Sabitzer looked set to guarantee the Red Devils an advantage ahead of the second leg in Andalusia next week.
However, the serial Europa League winners pegged United back with two late own goals inflicting the damage. Martinez's injury came in between a Jesus Navas-enforced Tyrell Malacia's own goal and Harry Maguire's own goal later on.

Injury update
Speaking after the game, ten Hag allayed fears of an Achilles injury.
"No, it is not the area. But I can’t tell what it is. But it is not the area of Achilles. We have very good replacements with Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof, Luke Shaw, so we have players who can replace them. But of course, it is a miss," as quoted by MEN.

Casemiro's reaction to De Gea
Sports Brief has also reported that Manchester United fans were left in stitches by Casemiro’s reaction to David de Dea embracing Ivan Rakitic to the Europa League clash with Sevilla.
While the draw was one of the major talking points from the game, fans had something to speak about prior to kick off and it all had to do with David De Gea.
Players typically lined up in the tunnel before kick-off, and De Gea was spotted hugging Rakitic, and Casemiro was in the frame. The Brazilian’s reaction was interesting as he almost looked disgusted by the sight.
