The national U17 team of Ghana, the Black Starlets, got off to a great start at the UEFA U16 Development Tournament in Serbia.

The West Africans thrashed Serbia 4-0 in a highly entertaining game on Thursday morning.

A first half hat-trick from Benjamin Tsivanyo and a spectacular freekick from Theophilus Adjetey gave the Black Starlets a deserved victory.

The two-time world champions wasted no time in establishing their intentions as early pressure from the boys earned Ghana a 3rd minute penalty.

Tsivanyo, who plays for Great Corinthians, elected himself for the spot kick and made no mistake as he sent the Serbian goalkeeper the wrong way.

Nine minutes later, the pacy forward tapped home from a cross on the right to double Ghana's lead.

The young forward completed his hat-trick after pouncing on a defense-splitting pass from midfielder Asamadu Ramsey in the 17th minute.

The Black Starlets rounded up a dominant first half display after Adjetey smashed home a lovely freekick.

Black Starlets coach Karim Zito made a few changes in the second half as Ghana held on to finish the game 4-0.

The former African champions will next face Spain before finishing the group with a game against Switzerland.
