  • Ian Wright believes there are at least four matches among eight that could decide Arsenal's bid for the title
  • The Gunners are scheduled to face the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City before they wrap up the season
  • Mikel Arteta's men currently have a six-point advantage over Manchester City in second place on the table

Arsenal legend, Ian Wright has identified four games that will be crucial in the Gunners' bid to win the Premier League title this season.

The north Londoners appeared to be the firm favourites to secure the crown this term ahead of reigning champions, Manchester City.

However, their 2-2 epic draw against Liverpool on Sunday evening seemed to have thrown the title race wide open, with only a few games left to the end of the campaign.

The result narrowed the Gunners' lead at the top to just six points, with City having a game in hand.

That means Mikel Arteta's charges need to pick up maximum points in the remaining eight matches to stand any chance of winning their first Premier League title in 19 years.

Arsenal's most decisive fixtures

Wright believes there are four fixtures among the eight that could determine the fate of Arsenal's title bid.

According to the Gunners icon, the club's next four matches against Manchester City, Chelsea, Newcastle United, and Brighton could prove crucial to their EPL challenge.

"It’s going to be tough - this is the stage of the season where the pressure ramps up. We expect Man City to find their best form but no game is easy, because almost every team is still playing for something," Wright said on The Kelly and Wrighty Show, via Metro UK.

Wright said Arsenal had enough to get through this period if they wanted to win the title, but he also ceded it would not be a simple matter.

"Playing Man City will be really tough and they will cause problems, but I’m also looking at the Chelsea, Newcastle and Brighton games. Those are the games for me," he continued.

Arsenal's fixture list

Sports Brief has also reported on Arsenal's busy Premier League schedule that could potentially decide their title fate over the next few weeks.

With no other engagements apart from the top flight league, Arteta's men will now switch their focus to their upcoming West Ham United trip.

The embattled Hammers are expected to give their London rivals a good run for their money as the club desperately tries to avoid relegation.
