Having coached Real Madrid, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and AC Milan to varying degrees of success, the only big-name European club missing on his résumé is Barcelona.

However, the 63-year-old gaffer has discarded the idea of crossing carpets to coach Madrid's fiercest rivals Barcelona.

“I’d never join Barcelona in my life, impossible. No way”," he said affirmatively as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.

Ancelotti continued by saying he is adored in the Spanish capital and hence cannot 'betray' the Madrid faithful following his well-documented history with the club.

“My history is here at Real Madrid, the best club in the world. People love me here”.

The revered Italian tactician boasts the illustrious distinction of being the only manager to have captured a league title in each of Europe's top five league championships.

Ancelotti at Real Madrid

From 2013 and 2015, the renowned Italian coach spent two seasons at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in his first spell, leading Los Blancos to the highly sought-after 10th Champions League victory, La Decima, after the 2013–14 season.

He returned to the club on June 2021 for his second stint, steering the club to domestic success - La Liga and Super Copa Espana - and Champions League victory.

This season, he is in contention to defend his European crown and could lead Madrid to Copa del Rey success, with Barcelona appearing to have all but sealed the La Liga title.

Coaches who have handled Madrid & Barca

According to Fan Sided, only two individuals have ever held the helms of Barcelona and Real Madrid - Radomir Antic and Enrique Fernandez.

Sports Brief previously reported that Carlo Ancelotti is flattered by the interest from the Brazilian Football Confederation but is fully focused on Real Madrid.

The Italian manager has been linked with the Seleção in recent months as his future with Los Blancos remains in doubt.

Despite the doubts over his future in Spain, the Italian remains focused on his current role as Madrid's boss.
