FootballKaizer Chiefs Coach Arthur Zwane Blasts Biased Referees Allegations
- Arthur Zwane has a bee with his bonnet regarding Kaizer Chiefs' reputation
- The South African football world mostly believes referees favour Amakhosi
- Zwane fired back at inferred allegations and dismissed them as nonsensical
Kaizer Chiefs coach, Arthur Zwane was unimpressed with recent allegations that the team is being favoured by referees this season.
The Amakhosi have been awarded the most penalties, while matches involving the club have resulted in the most red cards against their opponents.
At the club's open media day, Zwane said, according to the Sunday World:
“What makes people say such things is that they think once you have that one-man advantage, you have already won the game. If you look at all the calls made by the referees, would you say that they were not legitimate? "

Zwane believes people are choosing to dwell on the negatives instead of focusing on the positives.
"We also played against Richards Bay United early in the season where we got a red card and won the game 1-0. When we got the red card, the score was 0-0, so why don’t people mention that?" he added.
Ncobo analyses 'pro-Chiefs' decisions
On the subject, Sports Brief reported on Ncobo appearing on SuperSport's Extra Time review show to give his views on the decisions awarded in Chiefs' favour in the heated encounter against Stellenbosch FC.
This came in the wake of the opposition coach, Steve Barker sarcastically stating that teams should have trained with only 10 men in preparation for matches against Chiefs in a post-match interview on Saturday.
The Premier Soccer League, of which Ncobo is the general manager, has not indicated whether it will take action against Barker for his comments per the usual procedure.

FootballNcobo confirms Amakhosi penalty
Sports Brief also reported on this being the second time recently that Ncobo waded into the controversies involving Kaizer Chiefs.
'Mr Spot On' previously said a penalty the Amakhosi received against Maritzburg United two weekends ago was the correct call.
Ncobo said he was more disappointed the centre referee was not more convincing with his decision when awarding the penalty.
