Former Arsenal striker, Emmanuel Adebayor caught up with his ex-teammate Kolo Toure during his visit of the Ivory Coast.

The Togo legend is in the Ivory Coast for business reasons but took the opportunity to meet the former Arsenal and Liverpool defender.

Adebayor recently announced his retirement from the game at the age of 39 while Toure returned home after losing his job as Wigan Athletic manager.

"Gathering with my football family in Ivory Coast! Was great to catch up with my big brother Kolo Toure, and also to see my mentee Abdul Razak shining bright. Grateful for the bonds of brotherhood that football has created in my life," wrote Adebayor on Instagram.

Adebayor and Toure enjoyed good times at Arsenal before the Togolese left to join Manchester City and subsequently Tottenham Hotspur and Crystal Palace.

Toure also left Arsenal for Manchester City and then later Liverpool before hanging his boots in 2017 after a spell in Scotland with Celtic.

The Ivorian defender has been working as a manager since leaving Celtic with his last job being coach of Wigan Athletic.

Adebayor announces retirement from football

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Former Arsenal and Togo forward, Emmanuel Adebayor has announced his retirement from football.

The 39-year-old hung up his boots after a glittering career which spanned 22 years.

In a video shared on social media, Adebayor expressed gratitude to his fans, former teammates, and coaching teams.

Adebayor pays tribute to Christian Atsu

Emmanuel Adebayor has paid an emotional tribute to Christian Atsu after attending the final burial of the late winger in Accra.

Atsu was finally laid to rest in his hometown in Ada on March 17, 2023.

The former Ghana international tragically died following the devastating earthquake that hit Turkey and Syria on February 6, 2023.
