Messi nears PSG exit

Messi and PSG could part ways at the end of the season, with the Ligue 1 club reportedly unsure about extending the Argentine’s contract beyond this term.

The veteran penned a two-year deal in 2021 but his time in Paris has failed to meet expectations, following back-to-back failures in the UEFA Champions League.

As Sports Brief reported, PSG feels Messi’s partnership with Kylian Mbappe and Neymar in the attack has hurt the team’s balance and they now seek change.

Pique's Messi warning to Barca

Meanwhile, Sports Brief reported on former Spain and Barcelona defender, Gerard Pique urging the Catalans to be circumspect about bringing the Argentine back.

The La Blaugrana legend's caution comes off the back of continued reports of Barcelona's attempts to re-sign Messi from Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

However, Pique - who runs his own five-a-side league after calling time on his career, has urged fans of the club to be more coy about the potential return of Messi.
