A shocking scene unfolded at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on Saturday night.
AmaZulu player George Maluleka collapsed in the final minutes of a DStv Premiership match against Swallows FC.
According to iDiski Times, Usuthu's assistant coach Ayanda Dlamini pounced into action immediately, running onto the pitch to administer a defibrillator to Maluleleka as he lay motionless. Dlamini was then assisted by other medical staff on duty at the venue, leading to the player regaining consciousness.

An ambulance allegedly took longer than acceptable to enter the pitch, though after Maluleka was put on board it, did not take him to hospital. The article reported that it was so that an assessment could be made on Maluleka. There has not yet been an update on his condition.
Worryingly, this is the second time this campaign that Maluleka has collapsed on the field. He was stricken during a match against Sekhukhune United at the end of last December.

The cause of his death has not yet been revealed.
