  • Tottenham parted ways with former boss Antonio Conte after an explosive interview
  • His assistants Cristian Stellini and Ryan Mason will take charge until the end of the season
  • Former boss Mauricio Pochettino and former Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann are shortlisted for the job

Tottenham parted ways with former head coach Antonio Conte after the Italian went on an emotional and explosive outburst against the club and players following the 3-3 draw against relegation-threatened Southampton.

The club and manager decided it was best to move on. They gave his assistants Cristian Stellini and Ryan Mason the responsibility of overseeing the team until the end of the season.

Conte's contract was to run until the end of the season, having signed for just 18 months when he joined the club midway through last season.

Tottenham made to wait till summer

Though the club claimed a new manager would not be appointed until the summer, they would break that promise if one of their priorities became available.

However, due to different managerial developments around Europe, they would now be forced to wait till the summer to land any of their targets.

According to 90min, Nagelsmann and Pochettino are interested in the job but would wait till the summer to see if the Real Madrid job becomes vacant before deciding on their next move.

Carlo Ancelotti's future is uncertain at the Spanish capital, with reports claiming Madrid will part ways with him and he could take up the vacant Brazil national team job.

Sun UK reports that Manchester City legend Vincent Kompany has emerged as a shock leading target for the job but would also wait till summer as his priority is to get Burnley back to the Premier League.

Madrid and Chelsea interested in Nagelsmann

Sports Brief reported that Chelsea and Madrid are interested in hiring Julian Nagelsmann should they part ways with Graham Potter and Ancelotti, respectively.

The German manager was sacked last week after internal issues with the Bayern board and was swiftly replaced by former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel.
