Footage from the incident showed Odegaard immediately rolling around in agony, clutching his ankle before getting up to his knees and appealing to the referee to give a penalty.
The referee, who was not referred to the monitor by VAR, opted against awarding a spot-kick as Spain went on to take a lead moments later via Dani Olmo.
Rodri's awkward challenge on Odegaard did not go down well with Arsenal fans, who quickly hit out at the Man City star for 'attempting to kill' the Norwegian midfielder.

Redknapp was on punditry duty on March 12 for the London derby involving Arsenal and Fulham, which the Gunners comfortably won to maintain a five-point lead at the top of the table.
After the game, the former Reds star was full of praise for Arsenal skipper Martin Odegaard, who he claimed is possibly the best midfielder in the Premier League.
