Cahill speaks on GOAT debate
The former England international had a hard time choosing between the two greats. He highlighted the attributes that set them apart from their peers.
''Messi and Ronaldo, I think these guys, the numbers that they produce is just mindblowing, really. The amount of games they have played, the amount of goals they've scored, again, the amount of titles they've won speak for itself. Two of the best players in world football,'' he told SportBible.
''Two big presences on a football pitch, so I can't choose between them. I can't choose. The numbers are just incredible and obviously very similar.''
The former Bolton defender's indecision looks quite honest as the two are close first and second in most football metrics and hard to separate.

The former Argentina international played with Ronaldo for three years at Manchester United and with Messi in the national team but ignored his compatriot.
The 42-year-old said Ronaldo could not get better as he is already next to God in his abilities.
