Black Meteors coach, Ibrahim Tanko has named a star-studded side for Ghana's AFCON U23 qualifier against Algeria.
The former Ghana international named a team consisting of eight Europe-based players as the Black Meteors eye qualification for the tournament in Morocco.
The Black Meteors have started preparations in Accra, with FC Basel midfielder Emmanuel Essiam and Sporting Lisbon winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku all reporting to camp.
Other players invited include Emmanuel Yeboah of CFR Cruj, Alex Sarfo and Ernest Nuamah (FC Nordsjaelland), Zubairu Ibrahim (FK Jedinstvo Ub), former Hearts of Oak midfielder Adams Salim (FC Cincinnati) and Daniel Afriyie Banierh who now plays for FC Zurich.

The Black Meteors will travel to Algeria on Wednesday for the first leg of the final round of qualifiers on Friday, March 24, 2023.
The Ghana U23 team will host the North Africans four days later in Kumasi.
The winner of the two-legged game will have the chance to qualify for the summer Olympic Games in Paris next year by competing at the AFCON U23 championship in Morocco.
The Black Meteors failed to qualify for the 2020 Olympic Games.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that former Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan paid a visit to the Ghana U23 team ahead of their CAF U23 Cup of Nations qualifiers against Algeria.
The Black Meteors are preparing for the double-header against Algeria in the final round of qualifiers for the tournament to be hosted in Morocco.

Black Meteors progress in AFCON qualifiers
Ghana are through to the final round of the U23 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers after beating Mozambique.
The Black Meteors completed the double over Mozambique after a 2-0 victory in Kumasi, to complete a 4-1 aggregate win.
Midfielder Sylvester Simba opened the scoring with a thunderous strike in the first half, before captain Daniel Afriyie Barnieh completed the victory from the spot in the second half.
