“There is a club that is close to my heart and there is a manager who is my friend,” He said on Thursay after Roma conquered Real Sociedad in the Europa League.
“Real Madrid are great and Carlo Ancelotti is great! Hopefully they will go on in this way to win the final.”
Mourinho’s comments will surely have rubbed some Chelsea fans the wrong way, especially because of the fond memories they have of the Portuguese tactician.
Having managed Chelsea across two stints, Mourinho has managed to win the Premier League title on both occasions.
Chelsea have an outside chance of winning the Champions League, having won it with Thomas Tuchel in 2021.
However, with Real Madrid standing in the way of the Blues and a semi final slot, it might prove to be an uphill task proceeding to the next round, especially with the unpredictable nature of the London side under Graham Potter.
