AS Roma eased into the UEFA Europa League quarterfinals after a hard-fought 0-0 draw away to Real Sociedad, which helped the Italian side progress 2-0 on aggregate.
José Mourinho's men won 2-0 at the Stadio Olimpico last week and held their guard in Spain to progress, and now await their next opponent in the draw, which will be held at the UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland, in a few hours.
Speaking after the game, as quoted by Football Italia, the Special One praised his team's sacrifice as some of his players battled with injuries during the game.

“We return to Rome tired, but proud of what we have achieved and this type of courage and sacrifice. We are not the best team in the world, but we’re a solid group of players,” he said.
The former Chelsea boss also aimed digs at Italian rivals Juventus and Lazio over their eliminations at different competitions.
“There are teams there who in my view should not be there. If they are eliminated from a competition, they should go home! So if the Europa League is won by a side that went out of the Champions League, then it will be meaningless to me,” he said.
“The Europa League ought to be for the teams who went through the whole thing. I mean, Lazio aren’t going into a third tournament now, are they? That’s how it should be.” he added.

FootballJuventus dropped into the Europa League after finishing third in their Champions League group stages while Lazio were eliminated from the Conference League last night.
Roma would play Lazio at the weekend, but Jose would not be on the touchline as he serves the second game of his suspension, having also missed his side's 3-4 loss to Sassuolo, as reported by Goal.
Sports Brief earlier reported that Mourinho bemoaned Roma's lack of investment in the squad after their 2-0 first leg win over Real Sociedad.
He used his comments on wanting one of Bayern stars, Gnabry, Sane and Mane, to hit at Giallorossi board, claiming he needs just one of them to win games better.
