  • Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has identified two flaws in one of the best defenders in the world presently
  • In identifying Eder Militao's flaws, the veteran manager also extolled his abilities
  • Militao has been immense in Madrid's hunt to defend the Champions League and possibly reclaim the top spot of La Liga from Barcelona

Carlo Ancelotti has lavished praise on Real Madrid defender Eder Militao ahead of his side's weekend top-liner with Barcelona.

Militao has been arguably the best player for Los Blancos bar Vinicius Junior, churning out masterclass performances from the heart of the defence.

Since joining Madrid in 2019 from FC Porto, the Brazilian has grown in leaps and bounds as a centre-back, becoming one of the best in his positions in recent times.

According to transfermarkt, Militao has made 34 appearances for the White Angels across all competitions this season, underlining his importance in the Madrid setup.

Ahead of Madrid's all-important clash with fierce rivals Barcelona, head coach Carlo Ancelotti has heaped praise on the 25-year-old centre-half. But in his lavish praise, he also identified two flaws.

"Militao is the best in the world. He has a flaw, sometimes he is not 100% focused, and also, he is not that handsome," the veteran manager said as quoted by MadridXtra.

Fans hail Eder Militao

Aside from Ancelotti hailing Militao, fans of Real Madrid have taken to Twitter to heap praises on Eder Militao following his superb performance against Barcelona in the first round.

The 24-year-old was crucial in defence as Los Blancos thumped their bitterest rivals 3-1 at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.

Militao's performance saw him make excellent recoveries, win aerial and ground duels, and put his body on the line all game for Carlo Ancelotti's side.

La Liga to counter racism

Sports Brief also reported that El Clasico is arguably the biggest game in Spain and one of the most prominent fixtures in the European football calendar.

La Liga wants to use it to pass a considerable message across. Barcelona will lock horns with eternal rivals Real Madrid again on Sunday, March 19, at Camp Nou as both teams continue to push for the La Liga title this season.

According to the Daily Mirror, La Liga and street art group Boa Mistura has put together a colourful and vibrant campaign based around the word ‘Unity’, which will be prominent at La Liga matches over the next week, including the El Clasico.
