Arsenal Legend Emmanuel Adebayor Pens Touching Goodbye Message to Christian Atsu

Emmanuel Adebayor has paid an emotional tribute to Christian Atsu after attending the final burial of the late winger in Accra.

Atsu was finally laid to rest in his hometown in Ada on March 17, 2023.

The former Ghana international tragically died following the devastating earthquake that hit Turkey and Syria on February 6, 2023.

Adebayor, who witnessed the funeral, was filled with emotions as he said his final goodbye to the former Chelsea player.

He wrote on Instagram: "Rest in peace, Christian Atsu. Your talent on the pitch and your kind heart off the pitch will always be remembered. You will be missed."

Atsu and Adebayor knew each other during his days in the English Premier League with Chelsea and Newcastle United.

Although Atsu first joined Chelsea in England, he spent most of his time at Newcastle United, where he became a cult hero. He helped the Magpies to promotion in the 2017 season.

Meanwhile, at the senior national team, Atsu was Ghana's best player at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations. He was also adjudged Player of the Tournament.

Adebayor arrives at Atsu's funeral

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that former Arsenal and Real Madrid forward, Emmanuel Adebayor travelled to Accra for the final funeral of late Ghanaian winger, Christian Atsu.

Adebayor was friends with the late footballer before his unfortunate passing last month.

Atsu was tragically killed following a 7.8 magnitude earthquake in Turkey and Syria on February 6.
