Former England defender, Rio Ferdinand has confessed that he wanted Ghana international Thomas Partey to join Manchester United.
The 29-year-old ended up signing for Arsenal in the summer of 2020 and has since been an important figure at the Emirates.
Partey's performances in the English Premier League has seen the Gunners sit top of the table with 12 games remaining.
According to Ferdinand, he had monitored the Black Stars midfielder during his days at Atletico Madrid and felt he would have been a perfect fit at Old Trafford.

Football“I rate Partey. I mean, if you go back to some of the clips that we have had here, I have done clips here before he went to Arsenal even where I was saying Man United should sign Partey," said Ferdinand on his YouTube channel, as quoted by HITC.
Partey has been in the same sentence with Brazilian midfielder Casemiro in recent times due to his magnificent displays for the Gunners.
However, Ferdinand believes the Manchester United midfielder is ahead of the Ghanaian.
“I genuinely believe he is a top player. When you keep mentioning Casemiro and him, I just don’t think it’s fair on him. It’s not," he added.
