Italian Footballers Association (AIC) have named Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen as the best player in the Serie A for the month of February thanks to his impressive performances.

The Super Eagles star is the center of attraction for now in the Serie A where he has registered 19 league goals and still gearing up to score more for Napoli this term.

His impressive games this term have made him a target for many clubs in Europe with the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United looking for his signature.

Osimhen's goals in February

In the month of February, the former Lille striker was able to net four goals for Napoli in four league appearances according to the report on Complete Sports.

Other awards Osimhen has recently bagged include Emerging Player of the Year Award at the 2022 Globe Awards and the 2021/2022 Serie A Young Player of the Year Award.

Osimhen expresses sadness over Atsu's death

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen expressed sadness over the untimely death of former Ghanaian international Christian Atsu who died in the earthquake that occurred in Turkey.

Football fans in Ghana and many parts of the world are still in pain over the demise of Atsu whose body was recovered days after the heartbreaking incident.

Initially, there were speculation that Atsu was found alive before his agent rubbished the claims that the Ghanaian footballer was still under the rubble.

After serious search, Atsu was later seen dead and his body was flown to his home country where he has since been interred.

Osimhen explained that Atsu was like a brother to him stressing that the deceased would be missed by football fraternities.
