Former Arsenal striker Lukas Podolski in mourning after losing grandmother
Former Arsenal lethal striker Lukas Podolski has lost his grandmother, TUKO.co.ke has learnt.
The 34-year-old took to social media on Wednesday, December 18, to celebrate his grandmother as a heroine who played a crucial part in his upbringing.

Poldi shared a sweet photo of himself and his grandmother holding the 2014 world cup medal in what is probably his greatest footballing moment.
He went on to write, "For me you were more than just grandma: You took care of me, took care of me, cooked delicious meals for me. As a little boy I played football with you – you made me who I am".

From the message, it was clear he enjoyed a close relationship with his grandmother as he further revealed she was one of the people who was most proud of him during his football career.

Fans took to social media to mourn with Podolski as they assured him all would be well eventually.
The German left Arsenal in 2015 and went to Inter Millan on loan where he only made 17 appearances before moving to Galatasaray in Turkey in the same year.
Currently, he plays his football in Japan’s top tier side Vissel Kobe where he has scored 15 goals in 52 appearances.
