  • Manchester United look set to part company with a number of players at the end of the ongoing season
  • Erik ten Hag is expected to undertake radical changes as he bids to lead United back to their glory days
  • The move could see several high-profile Man United players offloaded to pave way for summer arrivals

Manchester United are expected to enter the market for new signings this summer, with Erik ten Hag keen on strengthening his squad.

The Dutchman has enjoyed an impressive start to life since his move to the Premier League with Man United last April.

The tactician has already won the Carabao Cup and is firmly in contention for two more trophies; the FA Cup, the Europa League and a would be miracle if Arsenal and Man City fumble the title race.

Despite Ten Hag seemingly having a strong squad, reports suggest he is keen to reinforce it further once the transfer window opens.

The midfield and striking positions have been earmarked as the top priorities, with Napoli ace Victor Osimhen and Dortmund's Jude Bellingham among the transfer targets.

However, reports claim that the uncertainty surrounding the club's ownership could disrupt the Red Devils' transfer plans.

So much so that the club could be forced to offload some players in order to raise funds to finance their transfer targets.

According to The Sun, as many as seven players face the chop at Old Trafford. Question is, which players could be allowed to leave?

Sports Brief takes a look at the top Man United stars who could depart the club in the summer:

1. Harry Maguire

Maguire tops the list of players facing an uncertain future with the Red Devils.

Despite United spending so much on signing him from Leicester, the England international has failed to make a mark at Old Trafford.

The captain has already lost a starting place in Erik ten Hag's team, with the Dutchman preferring the partnership of Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane.

2. Anthony Martial

The French forward seemed to have been handed a lifeline after Ten Hag's arrival.

However, injuries have hampered his progress under the Dutchman, with the ex-Monaco ace spending the better part of this season on the sidelines.

United are likely to count their losses and offload Martial this season.

3. Aaron Wan-Bissaka

The former Crystal Palace full-back has no doubt proven his worth over the last couple of months.

However, with Diogo Dalot understood to have been earmarked as the long-term option at right-back, it is likely Wan-Bissaka could depart in the summer.

4. Brandon Williams

The Man United youngster has been underutilized under Ten Hag since his return from a loan spell at Norwich.

Williams has seen game time hard to come by under the Dutchman, sparking suggestions he could force a summer exit in search of first-team football.

5. Donny van de Beek

Van de Beek has endured a tumultuous spell with Manchester United since his arrival from Ajax in the summer of 2020.

While his reunion with Ten Hag was expected to spark his revival at Old Trafford, that has not been the case.

6. Alex Telles

The Brazilian right-back was forced to leave Old Trafford for Sevilla on loan following the arrival of Tyrell Malacia in the summer of 2022.

And with Luke Shaw currently in the form of his life, Telles is unlikely to get some minutes at Old Trafford.

7. Eric Bailly

Finally on this list is Eric Bailly.

The Ivorian is currently on a season-long loan at Marseille, but there is little hope he will return to Old Trafford at the end of the campaign.

Bailly is expected to seal a permanent exit this summer.

Why Varane missed FA Cup tie

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Manchester United centre-back Raphael Varane was not part of the team's squad that took on Fulham during their FA Cup quarter-final clash on Sunday, March 19, at Old Trafford.

Varane has been a mainstay figure in Erik ten Hag's team this season, with the Frenchman forming a formidable partnership with Lisandro Martinez at the heart of United's defence.

However, the former Real Madrid defender was nowhere to be seen during United's clash against Fulham over the weekend.
