In the Champions League, they are facing the mountainous task of overturning a 5-2 scoreline against Real Madrid to stand any chance of qualifying for the quarter-finals of the competition.

Liverpool's transfer targets

Sportskeeda, citing Sky Sports, reports that Liverpool have since prepared a nine-man wishlist ready for the upcoming summer transfer window.

The shortlist list includes some familiar names, with highly-rated RB Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol top of it.

Eintracht Frankfurt star Evan N'Dicka, who will be available for free in the summer, is also wanted by the Reds, and so is Ajax ace Jurrien Timber.

Another Ajax star on Liverpool's radar is defensive midfielder Edson Alvarez, while AC Milan midfielder Ismael Bennacer is also a wanted man at Anfield.

Elsewhere, the Reds look determined to raid Wolves yet again, with the Merseysiders reportedly interested in Ruben Neves.

Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans is also thought to be on Liverpool's wishlist, but the 2020 Premier League champions look set to face competition from rival clubs, including Arsenal, in the race to sign him.

Borussia Dortmund hotshot Jude Bellingham and Inter Milan's Nicolo Barella are also said to be on the Premier League giants' wishlist, with Klopp determined to refresh his midfield.

Klopp blames Salah, Van Dijk

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Jurgen Klopp has appeared to blame Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk for Liverpool's 1-0 painful defeat against relegation-threatened Bournemouth.

Liverpool went into the Saturday, March 11, encounter off a historic Premier League win against rivals Manchester United.

The Merseysiders demolished the Red Devils 7-0 at Anfield last weekend in a match Salah, Cody Gakpo and Darwin Nunez scored a brace each.
