“There was an early interest in Olisa Ndah. He [Ndah] sustained an injury at the same time as the interest that came from Italy."
Ndah was unlucky enough to score an own goal last Saturday for the Buccaneers in a Soweto Derby match against Kaizer Chiefs.
The 89th-minute goal proved to be the difference as the Amakhosi completed a fifth consecutive win against their arch-rivals.
Many slammed the derby for proving to be another damp affair.
Soweto Derby threatens to erupt
Last week Saturday's Soweto Derby between Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs proved to be another let-down of a match, Sports Brief reported.
The Amakhosi won a fifth match in a row against the Bucs thanks to Ndah's own goal in the 89th minute of the match - probably the only highlight.
Surprisingly, despite the passionless nature of the 'boring and lifeless' match, it was reported the long-awaited derby kicked off with a fight.

Ndah's outstanding efforts for Pirates, in what was a let-down of a 2021/22 season for the club, have been recognised in Nigeria.
His towering presence in the Buccaneers' defence saw him selected for the Super Eagles' 2021 AFCON squad, Sports Brief reported.
Ndah joined the Orlando club at the beginning of that season from Nigerian club, Akwa United after not receiving game time.
