  • Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates delivered yet another terrible Soweto Derby last Saturday
  • The Amakhosi stole the game thanks to a last-minute own goal by the unlucky Olisa Ndah
  • However, the match could have been lit up by an explosion of martial arts had cool heads not prevailed

Last week Saturday's Soweto Derby between Orlando Pirates proved to be another boring and lifeless affair.

The Amakhosi won their fifth match in a row against the Buccaneers thanks to Olisa Ndah's fatal own goal in the 89th minute of the match. This was probably the only highlight of the match, apart from Pirates captain Innocent Maela's sending off on the hour. Surprisingly, despite the passionless nature of the match, it almost kicked off with a fight according to rumours.

The Citizen reported that a source supposedly said of Keagan Dolly and Miguel Timm:

"When I saw Dolly and Timm arguing like that I knew that now these guys were really passionate about the game. They were swearing at each other my brother, it was not nice.

"Another thing is that you know players like to intimidate each other, that’s another reason those two just went on and on even during half-time. I am just glad that it didn’t get physical because at some point it seemed like it would get there."

Rakhale opens up about Pirates exit

Thabo Rakhale has spoken out about his limp exit from Orlando Pirates.

In the middle of the 2010s, he was undoubtedly the Buccaneers' most popular, acclaimed for his amazing skill and effectiveness in inspiring his team to victory.

However, it all ended with a damp squib, with Rakhale being released from the squad after falling out of favour.

Khune laments Kaizer Chiefs decline

Itumeleng Khune has made a stark revelation regarding his part in the decay of Kaizer Chiefs' heritage.

The Amakhosi, the once-undisputed cup kings of South Africa, have not won silverware since 2015, the longest barren run since the club was established by Kaizer Motaung in the 1970s.

Khune has experienced a similar decline inside the club as he becomes an outcast as Arthur Zwane looks to take the team into the future.
