FootballJabu Mahlangu Derisively Mocks the Standard of the Latest Soweto Derby
- Jabu Mahlangu continued being the cantankerous uncle on social media
- This time it was Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates' turn to face his wrath
- 'Shuffle' harshly described the recent Soweto Derby between the two sides
To say that Jabu Mahlangu was disappointed with another boring Soweto Derby is truly an understatement.
'Shuffle', a former Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates player, was unfiltered in how he described the drab encounter at Soccer City that the Amakhosi won 1-0 courtesy (and fittingly) thanks to an 89th-minute own goal by Olisa Ndah.
According to the Sunday World, Mahlangu said the match was disappointing.
“The Soweto derby is watched in Europe and in about 20 countries. It is about time we tell these boys to pull up their socks. You expect those errors from young kids and not at that level of the Soweto derby."

Mahlangu believes coaches must account for what fans paid money to watch.
“Yes, coaches have their mistakes or blunders but at the end of the day you are [the players] playing on the pitch. It is like you are watching 10-year-olds who go where the ball is."
In January, Mahlangu made another controversial assertion.
He said that Financial Fair Play had to be introduced to the Premier Soccer League to reign in the ultra-dominant Mamelodi Sundowns' spending power, as per TimesLive.
Pirates, Chiefs players square up
Last Saturday's Soweto Derby between Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates proved to be another boring and lifeless affair, Sports Brief reported.
The Amakhosi won their fifth match in a row against the Buccaneers thanks to Olisa Ndah's fatal own goal in the 89th minute of the match.

FootballThis was probably the only highlight of the match, apart from Pirates captain, Innocent Maela being sent off on the hour mark.
Sundowns fans tease Mahlangu
Supporters of Mamelodi Sundowns are unbothered by Mahlangu's opinion, Sports Brief previously reported.
The legendary Kaizer Chiefs star expressed concerns about the club's domination of South African football.
Citing the infamous FFP rule, Mahlangu believes this will improve the standard of the Premier Soccer League.
