FootballCarabao Cup Final: Newcastle United Fan Gets Victory Tattoo Before Defeat to Erik ten Hag's Manchester United
- A Newcastle United fan is stuck with the wrong tattoo after his prediction went horribly wrong
- Kris Cook was convinced that Newcastle would beat Man United in the final of the Carabao Cup
- However, it was the Red Devils who reigned supreme to win the first trophy of Erik ten Hag's era
A Newcastle United fan has been left rueing his premature decision to get a victory tattoo of his club winning the Carabao Cup.
On their first appearance in a major final since 1999, the Magpies were beaten by Manchester United on February 26 at Wembley Stadium.
Save for the last couple of games, Newcastle have been in stellar form this season under Eddie Howe. Such was the confidence in his team that Kris Cook decided to get a celebratory tattoo way before the game was decided on the pitch.
As BBC News reports, the fan tattooed his team's famous chant and the date of the final on his leg.

Sadly for Cook and all the other Newcastle fans, a resurgent Man United under Erik ten Hag picked them apart in a meticulous first-half performance with goals from Casemiro and Marcus Rashford.
The Magpies upped the tempo after the break but as has been the norm in recent games this year, Howe's forward line has seemingly forgotten how to score.
Cook has vowed to keep the tattoo as he remains hopeful the club will win a trophy soon.

It was a frustrating final for Newcastle fans all over. Sports Brief previously reported on a dog eating Carabao Cup tickets for the final, just days before the showdown.

FootballLike any other Magpies fan, Alan Carling was ready and raring to support Howe's charges in person on February 26, but his pet made sure he never really got a chance.
To make matters worse, he was at St. James Park to watch Newcastle record a first home defeat of the season and Nick Pope was red-carded to miss the cup final.
