  • Liverpool are enduring one of the most challenging seasons in the Jurgen Klopp era
  • The Reds are currently seated eight on the Premier League table 22 games into the season
  • They could be eliminated from the UEFA Champions League after losing the first leg 5-2 to Real Madrid

Jurgen Klopp has overseen a successful era at Liverpool, winning all possible trophies once since he took over the club seven years ago, but there seems to be a problem which could spell the end of the road for him.

Liverpool reached the final of all cup competitions last year, beating Chelsea twice to win the FA Cup and Carabao Cup, but lost the UEFA Champions League to Real Madrid and missed out on the league title to Manchester City on the final day.

This season has not gone according to plan as the club finds themselves eighth on the Premier League table, out of both FA Cup and Carabao Cup and face a possible elimination from the Champions League after losing the first leg of the round of 16 5-2 to Real Madrid.

Speaking ahead of the game against Crystal Palace, as quoted by Football Daily, the former Borussia Dortmund manager further reiterated his commitment to the club, claiming he is where he wants to be.

“I worked 25 years in Germany in professional football, and at some point I wanted to do something else, because of the situation which were not so great… there was a moment changes were needed and I wanted to do something else,” he said.
“ I am here and I don't want to do anything else. We had a very successful period, I am only seven years here. I am now here and I don’t want to do anything else. I’m exactly in the place where I want to be.” he added.

The team seem to be enjoying some bit of daylight with wins against Everton and Newcastle United before the 5-2 hammering at the hands of Real Madrid at Anfield.

Klopp snaps at Spanish journalist

Sports Brief earlier reported that Jurgen Klopp lost his cool with a Spanish journalist after the 5-2 defeat to Real Madrid at Anfield in the UEFA Champions League.

Liverpool crumbled despite going two goals ahead in the first 15 minutes, before doubles from the duo of Karim Benzema and Vinicius Jr on either side of Eder Militao's goal condemned them to a resounding defeat.

The journalist was asking the German if he would give a new contract to Luka Modric after his performance, and he bluntly responded 'it's not my problem.'
