  • Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is going through one of the most challenging moments of his career
  • The Chelsea striker was left out of the UEFA Champions League squad despite scoring decisive goals in the group stage
  • He was in Milan over the weekend but has now rejoined his teammates at Cobham

The past few months have been the most difficult for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. He has shuttled between three clubs across two leagues and was denied the move to a fourth in January by FIFA rules.

The downturn in his career began when he was stripped of Arsenal's captaincy due to disciplinary issues. He was frozen out of the team and eventually sold to Barcelona. He left Spain after six months to join Chelsea.

His former manager at Borussia Dortmund, who signed him to Chelsea, was sacked after Aubameyang's first game, where he lasted only 59 minutes.

He excused himself and travelled to Milan and was spotted playing five-aside in his complete Chelsea kit, which he uploaded on his Instagram story, as noted by Mirror UK.

Aubameyang returns to Chelsea training

As observed in a video uploaded on Twitter by Football Daily, the former Barcelona striker was seen taking part in drills with his teammates.

The Gabonese appears to have put behind the heartbreak of the omission as he uploaded a photo of himself at Chelsea training doing an overhead kick on his Instagram page.

Premier League winners playing kickabout

Sports Brief earlier reported that some former Premier League stars were caught playing kickabout around the UK to stay fit after their careers went downhill.

Leicester City 2016 Premier League winner and former Chelsea player Danny Drinkwater and former teammate Danny Simpson were involved in the initiative.

Simpson revealed they rent amateur pitches around. Winners have bragging rights while the loser covers the cost. Joleon Lescott, Nedum Onuoha, John O'Shea and Raven Morrison were others involved.
