Paris Saint-Lionel superstar, Lionel Messi had previously admitted that he would love to play alongside Cristiano Ronaldo.

The seven-time Ballon d'Or winner has another option: to move to the Saudi Pro League where Cristiano Ronaldo plays.

The Argentine magician has previously admitted he would like to play alongside the 38-year-old Portuguese veteran.

Back in 2015, Messi was asked by the Associated Press if he would like to be in the same team as Ronaldo.

"Yes, of course. I always like to play with the best, and he is one of them. I think it will be difficult for us to play in the same team, but obviously I would like to," Messi said via Mirror Sports.
"I was lucky enough to play and participate with many very good players and, obviously, I would also like to do it with him."

5 possible destinations for Messi

The 35-year-old forward’s current deal with PSG expires at the end of the season but so far, the Ligue 1 giants have apparently failed to convince him to pen a new deal.

Sports Brief reported that winning the FIFA World Cup with Argentina in December has reportedly made Messi consider his options regarding his future in France.

The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner has reportedly received offers from across Europe and will study them soon, before making a decision on his future.

No Barca return for Messi?

Sports Brief also reported on the highly anticipated reunion between Messi and Barcelona possibly not happening, according to reports from the superstar's father and agent.

With the 35-year-old forward’s current deal with Paris Saint-Germain set to expire in the summer, the Catalan giants have openly declared their interest in the club’s record goal scorer.

According to One Football, Jorge Messi has claimed the PSG superstar’s return to Barcelona is not possible this summer, pouring cold water on his son’s 'imminent' return to Camp Nou.
