Borussia Dortmund have reiterated that they were never interested in signing Cristiano Ronaldo.
Prior to his big-money move to Saudi Arabia and before Manchester United released him, the Portuguese star was offered to a host of European clubs.
Social media followers don't count
While Dortmund were among the teams linked with the Portuguese superstar, Dortmund's Managing Director, Carsten Cramer insisted they weren't interested in signing him.

As reported by Goal, Cramer appeared to hint that the club focused on talented players, not celebrities.
“Basically, the value of Borussia Dortmund does not depend on social media followers. We are a football club, that's the key" he said.
"Even with the best brand presentation, the be-all and end-all is the product."
Ronaldo's online influence
Ronaldo's online presence was seen as an opportunity to bring sponsorship income for any team that signed him.
The Al-Nassr attached has 108 million followers on Twitter, 549 million fans on Instagram and 161 million followers on Facebook.
Not the only Bundesliga side
BVB were not the online German side that Ronaldo was offered to prior to his move to Saudi Arabia.
90min reported that Bayern Munich turned down a chance to sign him, while the Express reported that Eintracht Frankfurt were also offered the Portuguese star.
