  • Chelsea continued their unimpressive performances and results in the Premier League on Saturday
  • The Blues lost to 20th-placed Southampton 1-0 at Stamford Bridge to remain 10th on the table
  • A Chelsea star came forward and revealed the obvious about the state of the dressing room

Chelsea fans had another reason to lament on Saturday as they saw their team crumble to a 1-0 loss to bottom-placed Southampton thanks to a James Ward-Prowse freekick in the first half.

The Blues remain 10th on the Premier League table, increasing the pressure on Graham Potter, with fans wanting him gone before the next game against London rivals Tottenham.

It looks evident that the former Brighton manager has lost the dressing room, and not even the new signings are trying to salvage the situation as the club continues to sink.

Chilwell: It's a flat dressing room

English left-back Ben Chilwell who recently returned from an injury layoff last year, as reported by talkSPORT, made an honest admission about the situation. However, he was unable to point to where it all went wrong.

‘‘Again, not good enough. I can stand here and say we created chances, like I said in Dortmund, but it doesn’t really mean anything. We need to win these games,’’ he told Chelsea official website.
‘‘We need to work hard, it is a pretty flat dressing room at the moment. It is hard to get into it, in terms of what we did right and wrong today, but we have time now until our next game to work hard.’’

The 24-year-old was part of the squad that won three trophies under former boss Thomas Tuchel and claimed it was difficult to move from a group of winners to battling poor run.

‘‘Some of us a few years ago tasted winning a major trophy and then to be in this situation now, does not feel good at all,’’ he added.

Azpilicueta speaks after Southampton incident

Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta was knocked out cold in the game against Southampton after Saints defender Sekou Mara caught him in the face with a stray boot.

The skipper was down for over 10 minutes and was stretched off with an oxygen mask, which worried the players and fans in the stadium.

The Spaniard spoke from the hospital, as reported by Sports Brief. He gave an update on his health and thanked fans for their love and messages.
